Hee-may-no not ecezma

The residents of Ximeno street complained to the City Council in 1925 that the street needed to be renamed Woodrow Wilson Avenue because no one could pronounce Ximeno as it was intended: hey-may-no.
Instead it was being pronounced "ecezma" and they didn't like their street name being confused for a skin disorder. The street name was never changed.

In 1914 city workers found fossils at 7th and Ximeno when digging the street.

Josef Ximeno was a famous Spanish artist in the late 1780's.
