Long Beach Had Aggressive Marketing In Its Early Days

This is an example of the aggressive marketing the City of Long Beach used in its early days to attract visitors.

Tourism and the sale of land were the largest sources of revenue in the early 1900's. Long Beach had more real estate agents than most cities and they eagerly met potential clients at the train station and took them around to see the available property.

By 1915, Long Beach was one of the fastest growing cities in California.

By the way, Queen of the Beaches was one of many names used to promote Long Beach.
